Sant Vincenc de Montalt Golf Club is one of the newest golf courses in the Barcelona area. It has 14 challenging holes in rolling terrain. This course is suitable for golfers of all skill levels, but the use of buggies is advised. The Sant Vicenc course is not especially long, but you will need to use every club in your bag. It is set in beautiful countryside, with sea views of the Costa Maresme. This course is regarded as one of the finest in the area. The facilities include a clubhouse with a bar and restaurant, a driving range, and a buggy rental. From the clubhouse terrace there is a magnificent view of the coast, making this a perfect place to relax after an enjoyable game of golf.

Originally inaugurated in 1954, the Real Club de Golf El Prat has a new location in Terrassa on the outskirts of Barcelona. This new El Prat Golf Course has 45 holes designed by Greg Norman. It is set in gorgeous rolling countryside, and is a challenge for any golfer. Quite likely, national and international competitions will be held here in the near future, thanks to the state-of-the-art design and facilities.

The Masia Bach Golf Course, founded in 1990, was designed by Jose Maria Olazabal. This course challenges even the very best golfers, and is a genuine test of character. There is a shorter 9 hole course that is not quite as demanding, but is nonetheless a pleasant golfing experience. Golf Digest magazine readers recently voted Masia Bach the 5th best golf course in Catalonia. The Masia Bach Golf Course is located on the border of the Penedes wine producing region. It has some magnificent views of Mount Montserrat. This is a hilly course and can be tiring for some players, so it is advisable to use a buggy. The beautiful new Barcelona Golf Hotel overlooks the 1st and 18th holes.

The Vallromanes Golf Club was designed in 1972 by the famous architect F.W. Hawtree. It has become one of the most well established clubs in Catalonia. This course has an exquisite club house done in the traditional Masia country house style. This is a private club, but arrangements can be made for non-members to play. Players here find a course that offers constant challenges, and spectacular views of mountains and valleys. This is the perfect place to combine a great game of golf with relaxation amidst beautiful natural surroundings.

The Llavaneres Golf Club was founded in 1945, making it the 4th oldest private golf club in Catalonia. It was initially built as only a 9 hole course, but it has been expanded and has had new facilities added, so that now it has the characteristics of an established club. Its location offers magnificent views, with mountain ranges to the west, and the Mediterranean Sea to the east. The El Meresme climate is certainly an advantage, because it allows golfers to play in any season. They can also enjoy magnificent gardens as they walk the course. This is a short course, but it offers challenges to golfers of all skill levels. The clubhouse has been newly renovated, and includes a restaurant and bar, lounge and games room, pro-shop, and a balcony where you can relax and enjoy a magnificent sea view.

Founded back in 1914, St. Cugat is now the oldest golf course in Catalonia. It was constructed by English workmen who were working on the Barcelona – St. Cugat railway. In true British tradition, each hole has its own name. This is a beautiful course, marked by perfectly landscaped greens, fairways, bunkers, and tees. It is also a tight course, ideal for beginners and advanced golfers alike.
